Over the weekend, I attended an 'Animal Communication' course, hoping to understand what my bunny Puto is really feeling and whether he wishes to have a partner.
When the communication channel was initiated with him, he 'told' me he was very sad because I do not have more time to play with him as I am always working. This morning, I tried 'chatting' with him again. He came snuggling very close to me, which was rather unusual during this time of the day. I 'told' him I had to bath and to have my breakfast. Initially, he couldn't understand when I showed him the image of me going to the bathroom. I tried again sending him the image of me grooming myself like a bunny, then he understood and waited patiently for me outside the bathroom...haha...so all along, he couldn't understand why I always had to disappear for a long time to this 'box with a door' (which in our human context - a bathroom)! After bathing, he 'told' me he wanted petting. I had to channel my hunger to me to let him understand I needed to have my breakfast first. Interestingly, he ran to his food bowl. He wanted to have breakfast together. Haha... After breakfast, he waited at a corner, and I received 'an invitation' to play. I thought it must be my imagination, but when I started walking away, he started playing 'catching' with me. Haha... Then when I really needed to get back to my work, I sent him the image of me working, and I received this extreme heart pain in my heart. I was not sure if this feeling was from me or him, so I tried sending him the image of me working to him again. 3 times, the same heart pain came back. I sent him the image of sky growing dark, and I came back to play with him, and him sleeping while waiting for me to return. His response - snuggling even closer to me, and give me a feeling of longing. Oh dear, how can I let this little darling baby understand humans have to work. I always know his personality is that of Chicory, but I didn't know he couldn't stand so much even a short moment of not being together with his loved ones. I need to give him his Chicory remedy again.

There are many kind souls out there who are willing to adopt and bring sheltered animals back with them and shower them with all the love they could give. Over the weekends, someone shared with me some stories of sheltered animals that are unable to ease in easily to their new homes, or have behavioral issues, and some even escaped.
Understanding from these sheltered animals' perspective, it could then be easily understood why. In Singapore, many street animals are 'captured' and put in shelters. Due to limited space, some shelters would put animals who are displaying behavioral issues or not being adopted after a window period, to sleep. Put ourselves in their paws, this is very traumatizing and frightening. They do not understand why they were happily walking on the street one day, when suddenly some humans came to 'kidnap' them to a place with cages and so many other animals, and why they have to be separated from their loved ones. Some shelters may have shortage of manpower and have no time to give sufficient attention to the animals. After the ordeals they went through, some animals might feel frightened of humans, even to kind and friendly visitors or potential adopters. Some might still enjoy the love and kind attention from visitors, and would welcome the idea of these kind souls bringing them out of the shelters. But some may not be mentally prepared to accept the life of a domesticated animal, resulting in behavioral or escaping issues. Besides giving a lot of patience and love to help these animals to ease-in with their new homes, some Bach Flower Remedies can come in handy to help them cope better: 1) Walnut - to feel more settled and adjusted to changes and the new environment. 2) Mimulus - to help overcome their known fears or phobias. However, if the animals are having extreme frights or terrors, Rock Rose may be used instead. 3) Aspen - to help overcome fears of unknown things or feelings of apprehension. 4) Star of Bethlehem - to sooth shock, distress, trauma (recent or deep-rooted) or grief. This is commonly needed by sheltered animals. 5) Cherry Plum - to restore calmness, and emotional and self control. This is useful for animals who become too hyper and hysterical. 6) Honeysuckle - to help overcome homesickness, nostalgic or dwelling in the past memories. This is useful for animals who miss their family or friends still in the shelter. 7) Impatiens - to deal with agitation or irritability. 8) Rescue Remedy - to help calm animals during emergencies, harsh or critical situations. At any one time, only 7 remedies can be given. The above 7 remedies can be given for the initial stage. It would be good to also include the remedies according to the animals' personality type. However, some people might need some time to better understand and know their animal friends' personality. Some common animals' personalities that can also cause behavioral or emotional issues: Chicory - give a lot of love, want their love to be reciprocated, and want to stay close to their loved ones. Crab Apple - over-obsessed with their body's appearance or cleanliness, or groom excessively. This is useful for animals who have scarred body parts. Heather - attention-seeking Impatiens - easily agitated, irritated or impatient. Mimulus - shy, nervous or easily frightened. Vine - controlling and domineering With the appropriate remedies given, a happier animal friend would soon be seen. These are only some examples. Every animal has their own unique temperaments and personalities. If you need help to identify the appropriate remedies for your animal friends, do not hesitate to give me a quick ring. After attending a whole day course, I was so so so tired. The first thing I did after reaching home was flopped onto my sofa, and went 'concussed' for two hours before I could managed to charge my 'battery' up to a minimal energy bar level, just enough to force open my eyes and drag myself to bathe. But I was still feeling so drained, both mind and body. I took the Olive remedy, my favourite whenever I'm feeling exhausted. Olive helps us recharge naturally by putting us back in touch with our natural energy reserve or help us to rest and recover.
After a moment, I felt recharged again. Haha...just like Popeye eating his spinach. Then I started having thoughts marathon in my head. A lot of big, great plans of things I want to do to push for the causes that I strongly believe in. So much hype energy in me, and I shared my ideas excitedly for hours to my hubby who had already happily put himself into bed. Until he politely reminded it was super high time for us to sleep. Haha...that brought me back to my sense, and the lights were ordered off. But my mind couldn't calm down, it was still happily running wild with ideas. Hmm...if I don't do anything about this, it would be another insomnia night of counting sheep. I knew my Vervain personality had got over me again. Defeated, I took the Vervain remedy. Moments later, my whole body relaxed and I could sleep like a baby again. Zzz... Yesterday, I was sharing with a Facebook group about how the remedies helped my old bunny Puto when he was sick last year. Brought back memories of how it was then, and now thinking back, I really must thank Bach Flower Remedies.
During our Sydney trip last year June, we sent Puto to our usual bunny boarder. When we returned, our dear boarder told us she suspected Puto was suffering from ear abscess. This could be a serious problem as bunnies could develop permanent head-tilt due to abscess. We took him to the vet and he was diagnosed with abscess in his left ear, yeast infection in his right ear and ear infection with his left eye. He was prescribed with antibiotics injections, ears and eye flush every alternate days, plus, ear and eyes drops and other medications every day. We had to bring him to the vet clinic every alternate days. The vet told us the abscess might not heal and might get worse, and most probably have to be on such maintenance for life-long. Puto's moods and appetite were super bad and he was so frightened whenever he saw us approached with the pet carrier as he knew he would be going through ordeals again. At times, he was feeling so down, it seemed he was feeling very discouraged. So I started giving him Bach Flower Remedies regularly throughout that period, and his moods and appetite became better. Remedy treatment mixture given to Puto: - Gentian: For his feeling of discouragement. - Crab Apple: As a cleansing remedy for all the toxic from injections and medications. Also for feeling self-disgusted with the discharge from his infected eyes. (Puto was seen grooming himself excessively.) - Mimulus: For his fear of the injections and treatments he had to go through. - Walnut: To make him feel more settled with all these changes in his life then. - Willow: To overcome his resentment of us sending him to the vet every other day. (Puto was less friendly to us and tried to avoid us.) - Chicory: This is his personality type. Adding this to his remedy treatment mixture, will help him be more balanced. 4 months later, his abscess and other ailments miraculously recovered totally! Even the vet was surprised. I strongly believe it was the remedies that helped Puto recovered so well and so soon, but I didn't share with the vet, because in Singapore, not many people know about Bach Flower Remedies. Didn't want to be taken as a weirdo. How I wish more pet owners in Singapore would know about how their furkids can benefit so much with Bach Flower Remedies. Everyone who smile from their heart is really really beautiful. I mean it.
Yesterday, I was worried that my newly-bought plant won't make it as it looked all withered up.
I knew Bach Flower Remedies are safe for plants too, but I never tried them on plants before as this is my first attempt to grow indoor plants. Last night, I watered this plant with the remedies, namely: - Olive (for physical and mental exhaustion) - Hornbeam (for lacking determination and mental strength) - Gorse (for giving up hope totally) - Gentian (for being discouraged due to setback) - Walnut (for being unsettled in a new environment) - Rescue Remedy (for emergencies and critical situation) Haha...out of desperation, I selected many remedies at one go. Wow, when I take a look at the plant again today, I was in for a surprise! The stalks are trying hard to stand up again and the leaves are opening up again. Well done, plant! Do you best, you can make it! Excited and want to share this with all plant lovers. To be a registered practitioner of the Bach Foundation International Register, there are so many stringent assessment stages to pass through.
Besides passing the examination (i.e. part 1 of the assessment final stage) with flying colours, I'm so prideful (oh there I go again!) that I also passed the written assignment (i.e. part 2 of the assessment final stage) with very high standard (hee...that's my marker's actual words). This was what my marker said: "Hi Joanne Thank you for returning your work for Part 2. Some comments on your work are attached, but overall it was of a very high standard and I am happy to say that you have passed this stage of the assessment." Hip Hip Hooray! Onward I march! Since I joined facebook groups on bunnies, I saw many situations faced by bunnies that bunny pa pa and ma ma was sharing about, which I feel Bach flower remedies would come in handy to help our bunnies cope better.
Bach flower remedies are safe for humans, children, babies, animals and even plants. Out of my love for bunnies, I'm giving free consultation for bunnies if any bunny pa pa and ma ma out there would need help for their bunnies. Because I understand that not many people in Singapore have access to the Bach Flower Remedies. What I could do, is to help prepare the customised remedy treatment bottle, so bunny pa pa and ma ma would only have to bear the cost of the dropper bottle + the needed remedies, i.e. $20. Bach Flower Remedies would help bunnies improve their behavioral issues, fears, and cope better during any changes to their environment, bonding, sickness, injuries, pre and post surgery, etc. If there is sufficient interest in understanding more about how to use Bach Flower Remedies for bunnies, just need to find me a venue and I'll be happy to give a sharing talk. Hope I can be of some help in this way to the bunny world. |
