Tonight, I was happy and engrossed in my acting role of a great chef (simply put, I was cooking dinner), when I was jolted out of my day-dreaming by a screaming pain on my finger. I had accidentally burnt my finger with the pan!
My finger looked charred, not a pleasant sight. The pain was so unbearable that my right hand started shaking. But I didn't want to stop cooking because my masterpiece was close to complete. I tried to salvage by putting my finger under the running water, but it didn't help much. I bit my teeth and tried to hold down my temper while I struggled to finish the last part of the cooking. All the while, I was thinking to myself, 'great, let's use this accident to test how good is the rescue remedy'. When I finally completed my cooking, I rushed to get my rescue remedy cream and applied on my poor finger. Then I waited with curious anticipation. Almost within seconds, I felt the difference. There was a calming and soothing effect to my finger, as if my finger has feelings of its own. With the vast difference, I could then reflect on how my traumatized finger was feeling - it was crying and sobbing with the pain and resentment of the neglect it had endured. Oops, sorry finger, I would take some rock water to balance my rigidity and self-denial.
